RACHELLE L. PUNZALAN, B.A., J.D.

Rachelle Punzalan graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the Ateneo de Manila University as a full academic scholar. After University, she finished her Juris Doctor degree at the Ateneo School of Law and wrote a thesis regarding constitutional change. She then received a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.

Rachelle articled in 2012 and was called to the Manitoba bar in June 2013. She joined the law firm of Restall & Restall LLP in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she was an associate lawyer for three years. She opened her own law firm in Winnipeg, Punzalan Law, in July 2016.

Rachelle’s primary areas of practice include residential and commercial real estate, corporate transactions and structuring, as well as wills and estates.

Outside of her law practice, she plays chess and golf and is an active volunteer at the annual Physio FitRun. She is also a volunteer for her children’s school and hockey fundraising activities.

Athanasia Zoe Guerrero (Athanasia) earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines – College of Law in 2014, after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Following her call to the Bar in the Philippines, she practiced for approximately two years in corporate law, gaining experience in corporate governance, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.

She later began her legal career in Canada with Punzalan Law as an articling student in 2021 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in December of that year, continuing her practice as an associate thereafter. Athanasia’s primary areas of practice include family law, residential and commercial real estate, corporate transactions and structuring, as well as wills and estates.

Athanasia is known for her attentive and empathetic approach. She provides practical, results-oriented legal advice and is committed to helping clients navigate complex legal matters with confidence and clarity. She believes that understanding each client’s unique circumstances is essential to achieving the best possible outcome. 

Fluent in Tagalog, Ilocano and English, Athanasia is able to serve a diverse client base effectively. 

In her free time, she enjoys working out, playing tennis, and spending time with her family, which helps her maintain balance and perspective in her practice.
